Weekly Meetup!

Day Thursdays
From 18:00, to 19:00
Cost FREE
Type IN-PERSON Activity

Location: KBG-15 (Kemmy Business School)

Each week, we'll be meeting up to discuss topics related to Game Development!

Don't fear, you don't need to be a coder to attend! These meetings are discussion driven and revolve around concepts more than actual implementation. We cover all facets of the game development process such as:

  • Game Mechanics
  • Sound design and music
  • Story writing and game narrative
  • Visual, lighting and ambience
  • Art styles, styling choices and modelling
  • And much more!

We like to give everybody a chance to speak and give their opinions. Each week, we also vote to select the topic to be discussed for the following week, so if you've ever wanted to get ideas on a certain aspect of game dev, here's your chance!

If you're interested in the more practical side of the society, we also host or attend up to 2 Game Jams per semester. If there is enough interest, we can even host workshops for certain skills like programming or game art, for example.

Last, but not least, each month we also have our Game of the Month, where you get one month to evaluate a game. Usually, these games are chosen for reasons such as unique mechanics, interesting storytelling devices, an unusual art style and so on!

These reviews are not limited to having to own the game. Sometimes, if the games are too expensive or we are unable to give out copies ourselves, we accept people reviewing them by watching Let's Plays and Livestreams too! Sometimes, we may even hold game nights where people who haven't played the game get to try it out and experience what has to offer.

So don't be shy and I hope to see you at your next meeting!
