Members Meetings

UL Politics Society will be continuing to host our weekly Members Meeting on a Monday between 6pm and 8pm for Academic Year 2026/2027.

These meetings are intended to be our more casual and informal events, which give Members an opportunity to hang out, meet new people and most importantly discuss the most topical and exciting stories of the week in Politics, Government and Current Affairs.

This is a relaxed event so you do not need to be an expert or particularly outspoken to attend. Our Goal is to make these discussions a taster for our more ambitious events.

We will normally take two of the highest profile political stories of the week and dedicate about an hour to each.

We hope to see you there!

About Politics Society

The main objective of the UL Politics Society is to encourage political engagement among students. Creating a space in which to be educated and to educate others on political issues.

We aim to provide UL Students with a neutral platform for political discourse which exists independently of the views of any political party, politician or society member.

We also aim connect students and give them the opportunity to develop essential skills such as public speaking, networking and critical thinking.

We recognizes the goal of increasing political awareness on campus through easily accessible information regarding how they can participate in the political life of their communities.

We wish to particularly emphasise issues of concern to the University of Limerick as well as all pertaining to students and young people in Ireland

You do not need to be studying politics to join in!
