** DONT BOOK IF YOU HAVE NEVER CLIMBED BEFORE**

Welcome to the Tuesday evening Independents climbing session, a place where anything is possible and dreams become reality.
Free climbing shoes and harnesses to rent during the session are one of those dreams, so no need to go out and buy any expensive equipment.
Please note that you cannot belay another climber without both climbers having passed the UL Wolves belay test first.
If you haven't done the belay test you can still climb in the bouldering area or with the auto-belays after receiving the climbing induction from one of our supervisors.
Feel free to reach out or ask a supervisor if you have any questions (we're all geniuses so I'm sure we'll be able to help)!

Hey there, welcome to Orienteering! Orienteering is a navigation sport all about reading maps and navigating courses to locate control points in the most efficient and accurate way possible. Its a sport that improves your sense of direction, navigational skills and techniques, and overall confidence in unfamiliar environments. The session runs for about 30 minutes to an hour depending on the day, but if you're booked in for climbing you can still do both. So have no fear! It's free to show up, and you don't need any gear other than clothes your comfortable running or walking in. Sessions start with teaching some map skills before letting people off in groups to do the course. All skill levels and activity levels are welcome. See you there!

WEDNESDAY BEGINNER INSTRUCTED SESSION

** DONT BOOK UNLESS YOU ARE A NEW CLIMBER WHO IS LOOKING TO LEARN HOW TO CLIMB**

During this session we will teach and supervise people from all levels, whether you are proficient or have no idea and just want to see what climbing is.

This session is very beginner friendly and we welcome people from all skill levels.

If you wish to just use the bouldering / autobelay, all climbers will have to do an induction before hand so that they can safely do so going forth.

If you wish to be taught how to belay / do general top rope climbing be sure to mention this to one of the instructors at the start of the session. You will be sorted into groups depending on what skill you wish you learn / improve.

In future we will have belay tests for people who wish to belay without supervision and go to independent sessions. You can only climb with people who have passed their belay test also.

We provide all the equipment and supervisors - you just bring the psyche!

See you all there :)

About Outdoor Pursuits Club

We’re excited for another adventure-filled year with the Outdoor Pursuits Club (OPC)!

To keep up to date with everything happening in the club — from hikes and trips to training sessions — make sure to follow us on Instagram @ulopc.

What We Do
Our goal is simple: to spark a love for the outdoors and help members build the skills to enjoy it safely. We run regular training in caving, climbing, and orienteering, as well as advanced training in mountaineering and outdoor climbing, before our international trips to amazing places like Scotland, the Alps, Poland, Spain, and beyond.

Sunday Hikes
Every Sunday, we explore some of Ireland’s most beautiful landscapes. They’re a brilliant way to stay active, make new friends, and discover hidden gems. All you need are sturdy boots (with ankle support!), waterproofs, food, and water — we’ll take care of the rest.

Trips & Gear
For our caving, orienteering, and climbing trips, we provide all the gear you’ll need so that you can focus on adventure. Our famous weekend trips are not to be missed — from Connemara’s wild coastlines to the Wicklow Mountains, they’ve gained legendary status thanks to the hikes, the craic, and the stories you’ll never forget.

Climbing Wall
Did you know UL has Ireland’s tallest roped wall and the only full-length speed wall? OPC members get free access to this state-of-the-art facility beside the UL Sports Arena — perfect for training, learning, and having the craic.

Stay Connected
Sign-ups for trips and events will be announced through weekly emails and on Instagram, so keep an eye out — spaces can go fast!

We can’t wait to see you on the trails, in the caves, or on the wall.
See you in the outdoors!
