About GAA Club

It’s with great excitement and pleasure that the UL GAA Club welcomes all new students to the University of Limerick and more specifically, the University of Limerick GAA Club. UL GAA is one of the largest and most successful Clubs in the University with 15 teams participating in Hurling, Football, Camogie and Ladies Football. UL GAA Club is coming off the back of a successful season across all four codes.

Covid 19 is an obstacle for everyone, but UL GAA will continue this year, and will still offer its members the opportunity to train and play matches.

Who can join ?? We support all levels of participation with a common aim of developing and improving performance. We pride ourselves on having some of the best coaching and managements in place to better aid our teams to perform to their best. All codes have teams competing at Fresher, Intermediate and Senior grades, so there is a grade to suit YOU. For the elite player, those wishing to make their mark on prestigious and high profile competitions such as Fitzgibbon, Sigerson, Ashbourne and O Connor Cups then UL GAA Club will provide you with the opportunity.

So how do I get involved ?? To fully activate your membership, you must pay your membership fee which covers your GAA Insurance for the year. This must be paid prior to training or competing for the college.

• All players should have registered themselves on (they would have completed this process when returning to club action). There is no need to register again if already done so, only those who wish to participate in third level competition, but haven’t registered to participate with their home club need undertake this step. •

There are a few steps to registering with the GAA this year

1. Register on AND then request GAA membership. Fill out the form. Make sure you opt in for club emails as this is how you will be contacted about trials/ training etc. If you have a medical condition then you will need clearance from your GP before you can register.

2. Pay your registration fee-see below. • The registration of members will be done online this year. The cost for membership is listed below:

Freshers: €10

One time offer for freshers only that includes membership and UL GAA shorts and socks: €30

2nd;3rd;4th years and postgraduates: €20

ATTENTION FRESHERS!  You must transfer the fee to the GAA account (either €10 or €30, depending on what you want) as the default fee is set to €20 on the wolves website. Please see below:

When you have the payment made and your GAA membership on wolves is “pending” you can whats app/email me during office hours. I will also be keeping an eye on payments into the account so I may put you through before you message me. If you are a fresher who is opting in for the shorts and socks offer then you will receive an email when you can collect them (roughly mid-November). If you need any help please contact me.

Teams usually train twice a week on the pitches or the 4G pitches on Maguires or North Campus. More details will be made available on the clubs Facebook page and our Twitter account @ul_gaa
