Your €30 includes your train ticket and workshop fees (which covers all materials, tools, some sweet treats, and either prosecco or tea/coffee!)

Greetings members, we shall commence our getaway to Dublin on the Sunday 23rd of April. 

 At 8:00 am - We will all meet at Colbert Station, Limerick. Please be on time, as the train will depart at 8:25 sharp. MAKE SURE TO BRING A VALID STUDENT CARD OR STUDENT/YOUNG ADULT LEAP CARD, If you do not have any form of student ID and your ticket is checked by an inspector, you may be fined as we are booking reduced fare tickets for everyone. 

At 10:50 am - Arrival at Dublin Heuston Station. We will be taking the LUAS as far as the Jervis stop. Remember, you must tap your Leap card at the Luas stop both when you get on and when you get off the tram. If you do not tap on, you may be fined by ticket inspectors. If you forget to tap off, you will be charged the daily fare cap which is €5.60 on an adult Leap card, and €2.80 on a Young Adult/Student card. 

Approximately 11:30-11:40 am, depending on Luas times - We will arrive at the Jervis Luas stop. This is in a popular area for shopping, and is a short walk from Temple Bar. You will have some free time to explore the area, and we would advise getting something to eat before we meet for the workshop. 

12:50 pm - Meet outside Silverworks, Drury Street. Our workshop begins at 1pm, and can not admit latecomers.

We will be travelling to Ballymorris Pottery Studio in Cratloe, Co. Clare on the 20th and 27th of February, where you will get a chance to create your own clay pot!

The bus will depart from the UL Stables bus stop at 6:30pm sharp, please be on time for this as we will be leaving promptly. We estimate that we will return to campus for approximately 9:30pm

We are so glad to announce that we, along with UL Feminist Society, are becoming partners with Anytime of the Month! This is such a great initiative aimed at combatting period poverty and reducing social stigma. 

We will have a speaker from Anytime of the Month running a workshop so you can learn how to become a "friendly stranger" for anyone in need of period products, and we will then be sewing "period pouches" to help out with this!

This week we will be making stars as part of One Million Stars Ireland's initiative to raise awareness of domestic abuse. All stars made will be donated to the One Million Stars Project, which will be exhibited in the Hunts Musuem. Join us to participate in this amazing project!

Materials List:

• 6 cupcakes 
• Buttercream (Betty Crocker tub if you don't fancy making some)
• Sugarpaste (dr oetker do a box with 4 or 5 small packs of coloured icing, handy if you can get it) Some supervalu shops have small packs of coloured sugarpaste too, get white if you can't find colours, it'll be fine for this practice run
• Sharp knife 
• Butter knife
• Toothpicks or dry spaghetti 
• (Food colouring, if you have it, you could mix up some colour into your white paste if you like. Just ensure that it's a gel food colour and not a liquid one)
  
  

Each tour will start at the allocated time but may not last the whole hour. A host in the form of a committee member will share their screen and play tracks available for each tour.

Feel free to discuss what you've learned/ seen with other people on the zoom call in between the tracks. All three of the museums offer way more than what we will show so feel free to explore their collections in your own time!

Macramé is a form of textile produced using knotting (rather than weaving or knitting) techniques. It creates beautiful 'millenial' decorations, bags, jewellery, flower hangers and whatever else your creativity dictates!

At this Hangout @manysmallplaces macrame  will provide the live tutorial and expertise on macrame! We are so excited to be working with her!

Welcome back to a new semester, which gives us a chance to do the same things in a new way!

To break the ice after our chilly Winter break, we will start the semester with a laugh-enducing Speed Drawing session. Same as last time, a committee member will display an image on the screen which we all will have to draw in the space of 30 seconds. It might sound easy, but the results speak otherwise! Usually when we do knitting and crochet, we try to teach you guys some basics if you're first-timers. Do you have any scraps of used paper lying around the place? Don't know what to do with it? 

Make more paper! Sprinkle it with some wildflower seeds before it dries so flowers can grow out of it when you're done with it <3

We will be making period pouches but for those who don't menstraute, these pouches can be used for storing coins, sports equipment, jewellery, etc!

Join us for some spooky crafting this Halloween! We will be making garlands so you can decorate your house/ apartment/ room <3 Bring your favourite candy, make a cuppa, put on your spooky costume (or jammies :P) and let's craft!

We will be having our AGM on 28th October at 8pm via Google Meet just before our Hangout!

This is especially of interest to those who would like to have a bigger say in the running of the society this year and in years to come!

We will be electing new committee members on the night. Being part of a club or society committee counts towards your President Volunteer Award, which in turn looks great on your CV! You can also develop some amazing skills like communication, organisation and working in a team, as well as make some amazing friends! 

Since our AGM will be held during Halloween week, we will be having a lil online party with prizes for best costume to be won! After all matters are discussed, we will slip into our Hangout for that week, which is garland making. Hope to see you all there!

BUT!!!! It's time to change that! We will help you make a brand new pencil case (or at least something that resembles a pencil case) for you to store all your writing essentials in <3

Hi All. 

We are running our semesterly trip to Ballymorris Pottery Studio in County Clare. There we will work with an artist called Hannah Arnup. She is a local pottery artist and will be able to teach you a thing or two about pottery. She will take all of our pieces, fire them in her specialised kilns and they will be returned to us at the end of the semester. 

We will be meeting at the Stables Bus Stop for 19:10 on The 17th of February and will be heading off for our session from there.

Our last get-together of the semester is happening this Wednesday night at 7pm in Room 2 of Student Life Centre. It's a lowkey thing, where you can pick up your art work.
