Film Soc has invited us to collab on Stop Motion Animation! Book to get an introspective to beginner SMA!

This week's main activity will be on Monday, the 13th of October, as we will be having a henna class with Maryam!

Just some things to note before the class:

• You will first learn how to draw with a henna cone on paper, then you may practice on your skin if you wish. 
• If you would like to practice henna on your skin, we advise that you patch-test the henna paste at the start of the class, on an area of skin such as the inside of your arm, in case of sensitivity. We will be providing some nitrile gloves for anyone who would prefer to use them.
• This henna paste contains clove and eucalyptus oil, as well as henna powder, and may not be suitable for anyone sensitive to those ingredients. 
• Before doing henna on your hand or arm, it is advised to shave any thicker areas of hair to ensure best results. 
• Henna can have a strong smell, so if you experience irritation from scents you may want to bring a face mask to the class. 

This activity is for Crafts members to book a space for the Monday session, please book into both if you wish to both sculpt and paint your animal.

This week we will be collaborating on a project with the Environmental society - raising awareness of endangered animals through sculpting and painting clay models!

We will be sculpting the animals on Monday, 13th of February, in KBG13 from 6-8pm.

We will be then painting our clay creations at the usual Crafts activity time - Wednesday, 15th of February, in KBG10 from 6-8pm.

Welcome all to another semester of crafting!

Here you can book your spot at our weekly hangout! Each week we will host a different variety of craft - make sure to check our social media for information on what it is exactly.

Since the Spring semester is a busy one, and most of our committee is on placement, we have moved the Hangouts from Wednesdays to Tuesdays and we will host one session per week from 6pm to 8.30pm.  Rooms may change every week, so the best place to check the locations is on our Instagram or Facebook, or you can join our WhatsApp group chat and ask us there :) 

The booking for each hangout will close one hour before the hangout. If you'd still like to attend and the booking isn't full, text us or DM through Instagram, and we'll log you in once you arrive. If the booking is full and you haven't booked a spot please don't attend as we strictly monitor room capacities for covid compliance :)

This week's event is in collaboration with Red Bull, as we will be giving you an opportunity to enter their Doodle Art competition where you could win a trip to Amsterdam! Red Bull are kindly supplying us with some free cans to give out to attendees, and we will be getting in some pizza to keep you fueled while you work on your entry.

This week's Wednesday activity is a collaboration between Crafts and the Environmental society! 

We will be teaching members some basic sewing skills that will enable you to mend and repair your own clothes, such as sewing a hem, reattaching a button, and darning a hole! 

We will be in our usual room, KBG11, from 6pm to 8pm.

This week we will have *2* macrame workshops with Fiona from macrame.ie (@manysmallplaces on Instagram)

We will be making plant hangers in session one, and Christmas decorations in session two - if you would like to book into both, go ahead! 

This week we will be redoing our knitting and crochet activity due to member demand! 

We will be in KBG11 as usual, from 6-8pm on Wednesday.

Whether you want to learn how to knit or crochet, or just want to bring along a project you're working on, we hope to see you there!

As week 2 starts, many of us already have a lot of readings assigned for classes, so why not join us to make blackwork embroidery bookmarks to brighten up a dull book! For inspiration, check out our Pinterest board here https://pin.it/4dGIcBr , or why not try design your own motifs using graph paper -  try to keep it 10 boxes by 10 boxes or smaller.
