As the dust settled on our Foreign Training Camp, UL Swim Club got off to a speedy start in the semester. With historic races haven taken place at McCullagh Internationals with podium finishes achieved on an international stage, followed by too many medals to keep track of at Sundays Well and Ennis Masters, there truly is no stopping UL Swim Club this semester. With 6 championship competitions under our belt in the first seven weeks, the future looks brighter than ever for the club.

Our members have spent over 100 hours training hard in the water with the upcoming Intervarsity's at the forefront of everyone's mind. With just over two weeks to go, excitement is building as training intensifies.

Outside of the water, our run clubs continued on a weekly basis bringing all three squads together. We had a team bonding bowling night followed by weekly rest and recovery sessions at Serenity Saunas for swimmers to decompress after a tough weeks training.

One of the highlights of the semester so far was our Charity Table Quiz night which attracted huge crowds to the terrace raising almost €700 for the PIP Foundation as well as two of our own swimmers Emma Forrester and Jack Hutchinson who are embarking on expeditions over the summer in aid of meningitis research.

Also to mention our PRO's Heather and Elena who's hard work has made UL Swim Club shortlisted for the C&S Social Media Excellence Award.
