This Thursday at 6:30 p.m., we will be doing our annual AGM event!

At this event, we will be asking you guys about joining our committee!

The details will be explained tomorrow, but all you need to know about committee life:

1 hour a week in committee meetings 

You get to see behind the scenes of how PhotoSoc works and operates.

If you think or want to try something new, we highly recommend you join, as you can use it for PVA hours!

You don't need to have any photography experience to be on the committee; we want to hear your thoughts and opinions to make society bigger and better this year!

You will be able to ask skilled photographers your own questions related to photography among those that will be covered!

Hey Everyone, 

Hope you are having a good week.

This Friday, the 18th of November 6h30pm - 8pm we are holding a muses photoshoot at Jonathan Swift Theater (free). 

This event aims to be a safe space for female-identifying people to come together and express themselves creatively and artistically through photography. 

The photoshoot has 20 spaces available, 10 photographers registering to the event through photosoc and 10 models through femsoc. For insurance reasons photographers will be able to model as well but models won’t be able to take the pictures. 

Props, makeup, anything creative/artistic is more than welcome, as long as it’s easy to take in and out of the shoot. People can draw inspiration, think of concepts, do whatever makes them feel good, but some concept suggestions can be: femininity, goddess, strength, female power, sisterhood, self confidence, body positivity.

We’re having a disposable camera event this Saturday 29th Oct for our 13 pubs of Halloween. 

All members are welcome but please book on UL Wolves as there are only 25 spots. 

The meeting point is at 4:30pm at the Stables bus stop or else our first pub ‘Bobby Byrnes’ at 5pm.

This is a Halloween dress up event. The fee will be €5 and all the disposable cameras will be provided by us.

We're going to be taking some pics of the Jiu-Jitsu club during their tournament this Saturday!

Up to 4 junior photographers are able to come. This is a great event if you're interested in sports photography!

Bring your camera ready friends as models if they so desire - this workshop will go on till approximately 9.30pm but you're able to come and go as you please! 

We have some great models in line for the shoot already but bring more if you can!

UL Photosoc will be having our Light Painting Workshop on Wednesday the 28th of September at a later time of 7pm. We will be meeting in KBG11for a small presentation on the camera settings and practical work behind this technique. Afterward, we will be venturing around campus creating Light Painting photos.

It is advised to bring a camera and a tripod to this events, if you do not have one, equipment can be supplied by the Society. Also, wear some warm clothes, it will be cold.

We are delighted to have professional photographer, John Meyler, coming to give a talk on landscape photography. 

John Meyler is an extremely accomplished landscape photographer, with work featured nationally. He will be going through how he plans his shots, gear, apps etc. He will also be showing the process behind some of his work. 

This will be a very exciting and interesting talk, with the chance to learn from someone with a wealth of experience and knowledge. The talk is suitable for all levels, be sure to come along.
