What has happened in fashion society so far this semester?
Week 1 saw our successful clothing swap in collaboration with UL Student Life and the Environmental Society. This was held in the student life building from monday-thursday 12-3pm. On the Wednesday we were also present at the clubs and societies fair held in the UL Arena. We were so happy to meet so many new faces, as well as returning!
Week 2 saw our first members meeting. Our president Melissa came up with the idea of decorating tote bags. Everyone present got their own tote bag to decorate with fabric markers. The creativity and talent present in the society, as well as numbers were a privilege to see!
Week 3 had no meeting
Week 4 saw chunky bangles, this was our vice PRO Aoifes idea! We made and decorated chunky bangles using plastic bottles, scissors and fabric paint. If you missed out, our socials team made a tutorial, its available to watch on our instagram page @ulfashionsoc!
Week 5 saw our indie sleaze upcycling night, this was Melissa, Katie and Aoifes idea. Members brought their own clothing items (jeans, shorts, tops, jackets) to decorate. There were plenty of studs, lace , grommits and gems to decorate with. The creations were insane!
Week 6 (this week) we will make bag charms.
It is so lovely to have such a great and talented community already! New members are always welcome, we promise that the vibes are immaculate!

Our annual autumn mixer is back!
Every year the fashion society holds two main events- our autumn mixer, and of course our Met Gala which takes place in the spring semester. This year, after interaction and input from our current members, our choice of theme was narrowed down to four choices ; Brat ( Charli xcx) . Decades (80s,90s etc), Pop stars/musicians and Tis the Festive Season! We then had a vote on our instagram story ( this was communicated to members via Whatsapp) and the winner, with 50% of votes was for.... *drumroll* BRAT!
Our autumn mixer will be held on Thursday November 22nd. More details, including venue and pricing will be released soon!

UL Fashion Soc had its first social event in 101 Limerick. The theme of the night was “Tabloid” and everyone turned up and slayed! The night was structured like a social speed dating event to give everyone the opportunity to get to know one another.
