We have a survey that we would be grateful if people could fill out if they have the time. Just to figure out how well Anime and Manga have been performing with the switch to online activities. Even if you have only come along to one event or have just been lurking and haven't engaged much, your feedback is appreciated as we want the society to be as welcoming and fun for everyone as possible.
Thank you.

Anime & Manga Society will be hosting our AGM (Annual General Meeting) on our Discord server on Tuesday the 3rd of November at 6:30 pm (Week 6). Please be as early so we can handle the admin stuff quickly. This is where we elect the new committee to run the society for the year. Please come along and cast your vote on the various committee positions. The positions available will be announced at a date closer to the time. If you are interested in running for a position please do! It is a great opportunity to see the inner workings of a society and it also counts towards the Presidents Volunteer Award. You must be a fully paid and accepted member to attend. We hope to see you there!

Hello! Anime and Manga Society is alive and well, but due to Covid-19 restrictions most of our events will be held online on our discord server. https://discord.gg/vQ2rvnk
Remember to sign up on http://ulwolves.ie
Currently events are:
Tuesdays games night - where we will play scribble, Anime Music Quiz and maybe the occasional game of Yu-Gi-Oh! online.
Thursdays screenings stream - same as the usual screenings but online. Currently will be streamed on the discord but we will look into better quality alternatives. We also have a few Visual Novels and similar games we can group play.
As everything is a bit messy at the moment use of our social media is going to be important in letting people know whats going on so please follow us @ulanimesoc on twitter, ulwolvesanime on Instagram and ulanimesoc on snapchat. Also if you know anyone else who is interested in the society let them know those as well. Thank you.

Welcome to Anime and Manga!
Week 1 Newsletter
Thank you to everyone who signed up with Anime and Manga at yesterday’s recruitment drive. This year will be a very interesting one as the society is undergoing a lot of changes!
This is the first of the weekly emails/newsletter which go out to all members of the society, informing them of what’s happening with weekly activities, larger events and other general stuff.
Weekly Events
Our weekly events kick off next week to give you guys a chance to recover after the hectic first week rush.
So on Tuesday, from 6pm to 8:30pm, we will have our general hangouts in the common room of the Student Life building. Hangouts are where we get together, relax and have some banter.
Also in week 2 we will start off the hangouts with a brief overview of what is happening in the Society over the next couple of weeks
On Thursday, we will have Screening which typically run from 6pm to 9pm were we screen the anime you guys voted for on our weekly Facebook polls which will be running from next week onwards.
Note: we don’t screen anime within the current season, we typically screen anime that is complete as to not end entirely on a cliff hanger!
Annual General Meeting (AGM)
In week 3 we will be holding our AGM at the start of hangouts from 6pm to hopefully 6:30pm, if it runs smoothly.
There are a number of positions available to all members of the society, both returning and new, which will be discussed more in week 2 Hangouts.
Kingdom Comic Fest Week 3 Saturday 5th of October
This is a very special event and the first of its kind for the society as A&M will be going as both a visitor and a stall holder, which makes this a very interesting and engaged convention for the society.
The convention is on the 5th and tickets with Society membership cost 6 euro. Kingdom Comic Fest have been very generous to allow us to pay at the door which means there is no panic about payment but you can a committee member earlier if you wish.
There are more details on the UL Wolves Anime and Manga news about this and it will be discussed more in Week 2 Hangouts.
Thanks for reading!

This October for the first time ever Anime and Manga society is attending the Kingdom Comic Fest in Tralee, as both a stand holder and a visitor! This makes Kingdom Comic Fest the most involved event not just for our committee but for our members as well. This event promises to be the most exciting convention in the recent history of the society, with not only the Anime hobby being represented but a range of other interests jam packed under the roof of the Brandon Hotel in Tralee.
Also for once, since this event is in Tralee we’ll be able to travel at the venue at a reasonable time!
We’ll be leaving from the Stables Bus Stop @8:00am, going to the Bus Station in the city center and then travelling on to Tralee. Of course the usual perks of society memberships still apply as all members of A&M will get a reduction on ticket cost to the convention.
