After two years, we were finally able to attend our first in person Enactus Ireland event!
It was fantastic to practice presenting our projects and meet other Enactus members from all over the country! The guest speakers that discussed networking and improving our own presentation skills were also a brilliant addition to the day!
We all had an extremely enjoyable day at the Standard Chartered House where we will return on the 2nd of June for National Competition!!

Last week Enactus UL took part in the Enactus Ireland Spring Summit in UCC! We introduced some our newest members (and projects!) to the world of Enactus, where they gained valuable insights from facilitators into how they, as project leads, could improve and fine tune their ideas and tune them into successful social enterprises. We’re looking forward to taking all the advice we received on board as we start working towards Nationals in May!
We’re also looking forward to taking part in our first ever recruitment drive this week as an official society under UL Wolves! We will be at the Recruitment Drive in the University Concert Hall from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday. Come by our stall to find out more and sign up! Membership is only €3. We will be holding a further information session on Thursday, Enactus 101, at 6pm in KBG15. More information can be found on our Facebook page, but there will be a chance to hear about all our established and new projects, ask us any questions about starting your own social enterprise, and also some free pizza!
As always, our regular meetings will be taking place on Tuesdays, upstairs in the Kemmy Business School - KB114, from 6:00-7:30 pm.
We have a busy semester ahead, with lots of events and collaborations in the works, so keep an eye on all our social media and we look forward to seeing you all again!

Enactus UL are excited to announce that we will be running an Entrepreneurship Hub during weeks 9 & 10, in collaboration with Entrepreneurship Society. This will be taking place in the Student Life Courtyard Hub (the space that was formally the First 7 Weeks Hub) for the duration of the two weeks, and will be available for anyone to come in and work on their own ideas, collaborate with other students, and discuss everything entrepreneurship. There'll also be some guest speakers and talks during the weeks too, while catering for the event will be provided by our very own ReStart team, so if you have a free hour or two, pop in and check it out.
For current members, we will be taking orders for Enactus UL hoodies this Tuesday at our weekly meeting. The sweatshirts will cost just €30, so if you are looking to get your hands on one and rep the society, make sure to come along this week and place an order!
As always, our meetings are taking place in the Kemmy Business School along the second floor corridor (turn right at the top of the stairs) on Tuesdays from 6-7pm. We're always ready to welcome new members, so if you're interested in joining Enactus UL, pop along to our meetings and sign up. Membership costs just €3 for the semester. We have three projects running at the moment, ReStart, SparkEd, and Moyo Nua:
- ReStart is a social enterprise aiming to assist asylum seekers in integrating into Irish society, through ReStart Cooking, which includes a weekly food stall in the UL Student Life Courtyard, and ReStart Gardening, where volunteers work with those living in the direct provision centre in Knockalisheen, Co. Limerick, to create gardens and help the development of agricultural skills.
- SparkEd is a youth leadership program, aiming to empower students through volunteering and leadership opportunities. The team works alongside companies such as Uber to provide work experience opportunities for TY students, and works directly with students through workshops in schools across the country. The project also includes an annual SparkEd showcase event, where students can attend guest talks and present to a panel of judges.
- Moyo Nua aims to revolutionise the agricultural practices of developing countries, while decreasing the economic disparity between nations. The team create business workshops for students in developing countries, covering topics such as social media management and book-keeping. The team are currently in the process of designing hand-held seed planters, and are looking to recruit product design/engineering students in particular to join their team.
All projects are currently recruiting new team members, so if you are interested in making a difference to communities in Ireland and around the world, Enactus is the perfect way to get involved. We are also running an Accelerator this year, so if you have your own idea for a social entrepreneurship project, come to one of our Tuesday meetings, and we can help you develop your idea further!
