We have some promising stuff about northern lights tonight, and if it doesn't happen we'll do some astro photography.

We will meet around 9pm at the living bridge and find a spot to take some photos.

It's going to be cold tonight so dress appropriately!

Let's try wildlife photography, walk alongside Shannon River and take photos of birds and maybe some squirrels 

We have a couple of cameras suited for this so you will have your turn!

Join us for a session of misery and fun on the streets of Limerick. With a rain forecast we can expect it to be pretty cold tomorrow so grab your raincoat and umbrella (please do, they look really cool on photos). 

We will have a limited amount of cameras prepared (5-6) as they need rain sleeves for protection, so if you have a camera, I'd recommend you grabbing yours.

We will meet in front of student life building at 6pm, where we will tell you how to handle rain with a camera, and then we'll take a bus to the city center around 6.25 (grab your leap card). If you are living in the city you can meet us around 7 on the Sarsfield bus station.

We will be under the rain for around 90 minutes, so come prepared! ??

For those of you who are unfamiliar with an AGM, it’s primarily the way we elect our committee members each year. During this meeting we will discuss information related to

- Events this year

- Voting for new committee members. 

- Budget allocations for the upcoming year

AND we will provide refreshments at the end of the meeting, so don’t miss it! Think of it as a place to bring your own ideas in and discuss them with other members of the society. The general format is Ivan and I will give a presentation towards the beginning of the meeting, followed by the above. It’s also a great way to network and socialise with all society members.

If you are interested in being a committee member, bring some points of what you’d like to do with the committee this year and how you think you can best contribute. There will be a vote between any volunteers to fill certain positions. We will try our best during the meeting to describe each role and its responsibilities clearly. Here are the core open roles:

This Friday, the 18th of November 6h30pm - 8pm we are holding a muses photoshoot at Jonathan Swift Theater (free). 

This event aims to be a safe space for female-identifying people to come together and express themselves creatively and artistically through photography. 

The photoshoot has 20 spaces available, 10 photographers registering to the event through photosoc and 10 models through femsoc. For insurance reasons photographers will be able to model as well but models won’t be able to take the pictures. 

Props, makeup, anything creative/artistic is more than welcome, as long as it’s easy to take in and out of the shoot. People can draw inspiration, think of concepts, do whatever makes them feel good, but some concept suggestions can be: femininity, goddess, strength, female power, sisterhood, self confidence, body positivity.

We’re having a disposable camera event this Saturday 29th Oct for our 13 pubs of Halloween. 

All members are welcome but please book on UL Wolves as there are only 25 spots.

This is a Halloween dress up event. The fee will be €5 and all the disposable cameras will be provided by us.

UL Photosoc will be having our Light Painting Workshop on Wednesday the 28th of September at a later time of 7pm. We will be meeting in KBG11for a small presentation on the camera settings and practical work behind this technique. Afterward, we will be venturing around campus creating Light Painting photos.

It is advised to bring a camera and a tripod to this events, if you do not have one, equipment can be supplied by the Society. Also, wear some warm clothes, it will be cold.

We are delighted to have professional photographer, John Meyler, coming to give a talk on landscape photography. 

John Meyler is an extremely accomplished landscape photographer, with work featured nationally. He will be going through how he plans his shots, gear, apps etc. He will also be showing the process behind some of his work. 

This will be a very exciting and interesting talk, with the chance to learn from someone with a wealth of experience and knowledge. The talk is suitable for all levels, be sure to come along.
