UG sailing are hosting a sailing team racing series. We will be leaving Stables at 9:15am. Racing starts at 12. Aim to be back around 5:30 pm.

We are hosting a Cup Pong tournament in the Scholars Club at 7pm on Wednesday 20th of November. This is a club fundraiser as we are charging €10 per team (teams of 2). A team will play off against each other in throwing a ping pong ball into cups at the opposite end of the table. If the ball lands in the cup, the opposite team drink from their own drink. The first team to land a ping pong ball in all cups wins and continues on in the game. The team that wins the tournament will win a Locke Burger voucher each. There will also be spot prizes for other players.

There will be training in ULAC for the upcoming IUSA event in Rathmullen. We will leave UL at 2pm sharp and travel to ULAC. We will rig and get out on the water asap in order to get as much training in before dark. We will then return to UL ready for the next event!

IUSA team racing event in Carlingford. First car is leaving at 2:30pm. Racing will take place on Saturday and Sunday at Carlingford Sailing Club

We’ll travel to Achill from UL on Friday afternoon. There is music and entertainment in the Valley House Friday night. We will enjoy the kitesurfing spectacle Saturday along with some on land kite handling practice. There is more music and entertainment Saturday night. There is the final of the kitesurfing competition Sunday and the WOW Show. We will then return to Limerick Sunday evening

This is our annual information night/ EGM. In this meeting we will be highlighting all plans for the year within the club and also appointing some newly available committee positions. We will also supply pizza for all attendees. The aim of this meeting is to provide people interested in joining the club, all necessary information and plans for the year and also appointed committee positions

The WindSports AGM is happening Tuesday, the 9th, in KBG14 (Kemmy Business School) at 7p.m.

At the AGM we will be voting people into committee positions, they’re all open and up for grabs, so it could be your opportunity to join our ever growing club. The new committee will take over the current committee now to allow a seamless transition and better prepare the new members for their September arrival.

We will leave from the stables bus stop at 9:30. Go over a bit of sailing theory before rigging the boats and going sailing. We will then return to land, derig the boats and head home

We will drive up to Galway Sunday morning. We will be in the club for 10am. Racing is being organised by UG. It will finish up at roughly 4:30 and we will then return to UL

Racing will begin again Friday morning at 9am and the last race will start no later than 4:30pm. We will return to the accommodation once again for dinner before the Friday night social event. The playoffs will then begin Saturday morning at 9:30 and run till the end of day. We will once again have dinner and get ready for the final social event of the year where awards and IV Champion 2024 will be crowned. We will then return to UL Sunday.

We will travel to ULAC by car from the bus stop by stables. Rig the boats and head out. Come back in at 1, derig and head home

Kite Flying!!!!

We're running a kite flying session for all those interested in learning to kitesurf! We'll meet in the field behind the Shuman building to practice and get some training kites in the air. We will provide all the equipment necessary so all abilities from complete beginners to professionals are welcome. 

We’ll be leaving UL Friday afternoon and driving to Dingle. There is a social night planned in Dingle for Friday night. Weather permitting, sailing will start Saturday morning and run till late afternoon. There is another social event planned for Saturday night in Dingle. Sailing will recommence Sunday morning and run till early afternoon. We will then help pack up the boats and return to UL. 

Uisce Windsurfing Trip. *Only book here if you are not getting lessons*                                                              

Windsurfing is back with a bang this semester with the biggest college windsurfing event ever in Colaiste Uisce, County Mayo on the weekend of the 11th of February. There will be over 100 windsurfers of all levels from across the country attending. So whether you have never been on a windsurfing board in your life or you're a pro windsurfer, you're welcome to come along. Accomadation and food is priced at 40 euro per person for the weekend and if you wish to do lessons they will cost 20 euro for a four hour lesson. **IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO DO LESSONS DO NOT BOOK HERE AND CONTACT ME ON WHATSAPP OR EMAIL @0897071311 or @20269315@studentmail.ul.ie** All windsurfing equipment including wet gear will be provided.

We will travel to ULAC by car, Rig the boats, train on the water for 2/3 hours, derig the boats and return to UL by car.

Semester two information evening to chat about plans and goals we have for the upcoming semester pizza will be provided also open to non members.

We will be leaving from Stables on Friday evening and arriving to Kinlay Hostel in Galway. We will go windsurfing on Saturday and Sunday morning. All equipment and transport will be provided.

A fundraising quiz in the pavilion on Monday 13th of November at 7:30pm. This is open to both members and non-members. A 10 round quiz with lots of prizes to be won on the night. Price is 20 euro per table and table sizes can range from 2-6 people. 

We will be leaving UL at 8:30/9. Racing will start in Galway at 11 and be finished by 4. We will then leave and return to UL by 6ish

We're going to fly some kites on Wednesday! The club have a training kite so wind dependant we will try to get it up and teach people the basics of flying kitesurfing kites. We will meet at 3pm in the field just up from the boat house, the big one all the way behind the Tierney building. 

We will be leaving UL at 9 to be in Galway for around 10:30. Racing will start at 11 and last until 4. We will then return to UL for 6. 

Hi, We will be hosting a beginner sail training on Wednesday the 25th. Meet at the stables/paddocks at 15.15 and bring a towel, warm clothes, and lots of waterproof gear! We will sail until roughly 6pm, put boats away and head back to Limerick.

We are going to host a beginner sailing talk tomorrow for all the things you need to know about sailing. This will be theory based so it will give you a head start when we get out to Killaloe and in a boat!

A social night for after the EGM to welcome everyone to the club. Held in scholars from 7pm onwards with pizza included

WindSports EGM to outline our plans for the future year and vote in any new members for committee roles. 

There are just a few roles up for grabs such as Kitesurfing Captin, Health and Safety officer and a few other positions.

There will also be some pizza on the night and a social event in Scolars afterwards!

UL Windsports will be running a sailing and windsurfing session in ULAC. Beginners are more than welcome to attend and will be given a lesson by our Instructors within the windsport club. 
The plan is to meet outside the stables at 9:30 am and head out towards ULAC for 10am. The day will consist of a morning session, lunch, and an afternoon session. Attendees will be given the opportunity to sail and windsurf on the day.

UL Windsports are running a safety boat course in ULAC on April 6/7th.

This course is affiliated with Irish sailing and is needed for some instructor certificates like Senior Instructor. Once again, it's heavily discounted by UL windsports, so the Safety Boat course will cost 200 euros for UL Windsports members and 230 euros for non-UL Windsports members. Numbers are limited, so please sign up asap. Please note that a required pre-requisite for this course is a National Power Boat certificate - so if you do not have an NPC - you're not eligible for this course.

We will be sending  a team of 4 to the student match racing nationals in the National Yacht Club in Dun Laoghaire the 1st and 2nd of April. We will travel up Friday night, racing will commence at 9:30 Saturday morning and continue all day. Racing will resume Sunday morning and also continue all day. We will  then return to Limerick Sunday evening.

Short talk on match racing. Some tips and tricks for the start and mark roundings as well as a look at the racing rules and how to use them. Gonna be very relaxed, all welcome and a knowledge of basic sailing rules would be advised although not necessary.

A karaoke night in order to fundraise for the club and also allow people to get to know. It’s being held in the pavilion and we hope for a good turn out. We are hooking a laptop up to the pavilions sound system to allow the music to play through the speakers and the words to go up on the screen. We are having a raffle to raffle away a student race day ticket and also other prizes such as a wetsuit and vouchers

UL Windsports are working with ULAC to run a National Power Boat course to allow our members to upskill while being part of UL Windsports. This course is being run at a highly discounted rate for our members to make the course more achievable for more members. 

Hi, this is the event for UG's alumni event this weekend. We will travel up to Galway Saturday morning, sail for the day. This time we’ve pulled everyone together to host a beginner day for both sailing & windsurfing in ULAC. Small nibbles will be supplied for everyone attending as well as equipment.

A full weekend event, Featuring 2-three hour midday sessions (due to tides) of windsurfing. Possibly trying out a bit of kite control for whoever is able to wake up before 12 (high numbers not expected) (weather permitting).

In the evenings you can expect some of the finest meals from our head chef TJ, All dietary requirements will be catered for though variability does decrease with pickiness, Dinner time will be dictated by how many are willing to help out :) After dinner there will usually be some tasteful games to bring the group together with the occasional trip to the pub conveniently situated 1 floor below the hostel we will be staying in, Where among other things are disgruntled locals who have never known defeat at the pool table.

On the Saturday (26th) the pub will be hosting their annual Halloween party, and there is a free drink to anyone that dresses up, so thats something to consider :)

Intervarsities is being hosted by us this year. It will be held in Castlegregory Co.Mayo on the 23th to the 25th of March. It will cost €35 for the amazing weekend. Registration will include races for all levels, lessons and clinics throughout the weekend, a goodie bag and a free intervarsities t-shirt, as well as two very fun nights out with the other clubs! There will be three categories, so even if you have only windsurfed once or never windsurf before, you are totally welcome to join! The end of exam season as the summer begin! No reason why we shouldn't be camping!! we also might be running kitesurfing and windsurfing activities at the same weekend!! 

The trip will be cost €35. its All-inclusive for windsurfers only!!!!!!! The price will be higher for those who wish to do kitesurfing. The price for kitesurfer is still unclear we will email more information later next week. 

This is the camping trip and we will be camping in Camping site in Castlegregory which they have all the facility like hostel! but closer to the beach. The sign up for the Camping trip will be take place during our EGM tomorrow at 2.30. We will need to know the exact numbers for people so then we can prepare for this camping trip. We know that it is late in the semester but we are holding an extraordinary general meeting next Tuesday the 26th in the students union in room 2 at 2.30. There is only one topic on the agenda, so it shouldn't take long, less than 30 minutes. We will be voting on the proposed merger with the Sailing Club. We will have a guest from sailing to discuss the advantages of this to our club. This will have a profound effect on the club for the foreseeable future so we strongly encourage everyone to turn up and have their opinion heard.
