So we've all had a very busy semester. Give yourself a break this reading week and join UL Surf Clubs charity swim/surf. 

The general plan is to head to Lahinch and have a christmas cold water swim/surf. Bring your santa hat along if you have one. Afterwards maybe we'll put on wetsuits and have a propper surf or we might just chill with a coffee. 

We havn't decided on a charity/cause yet, but it will be decided by popular vote on our Instagram in coming days so keep an eye out.

Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is where we elect a new committee for the coming year. Some of the positions are as follows. President, Secretary, Treasure, Safety and Development Officer, Public Relations Officer, Events Officer, Trips Officer, Merchandise and Marketing Officer, and many assistant Officer positions. 

Anybody can nominate themselves to be on the committee. Undergraduate, Postgraduate, International/Erasmus Students are all eligible. We will also be having a information session where we will be discussing what the club has to offer. We will also be having a social event after the AGM so come ready for some fun after all the important stuff. 

Skate and Balance Sessions

Great opportunity to meet other club members and practice your balancing skills on land!

All levels welcome , you don't need to have a skate/ balance board we share the ones we have, but if you do have your own bring it along!?

Week 10 pool session, will be a little different. We are running a basic water safety training. We will cover rescue technices and do a quick CPR refresher.

This session will be most usefull for people who go surfing on their own. Water safety is a good skill to have.

First come first serve. Only 30 spots available.

You simply put your board in the queue and you can go out as many times as you like!!!!

Jam Sessions are the heart beat of the wakepark and are so much fun. You get to see loads of people riding in shorter sets than usual. Super social and a great way to progress your wakeboarding!!!!

Make sure to wear dark/old  clothes that you don't mind getting a little dirty and to wrap up warm, the boathouse gets a bit chillyyy.

Our safety and development officer, Steve is giving a presentation tonight to our members informing them on how to read surf forecast, judge a surf spot and how to stay safe in the water.

This is essential information for all of our beginners so make sure you come down and learn something new!

Surf Club's AGM will be held on the 6th of February at 8pm. We will have an info session regarding our plans for the semester. We will also be re - electing committee positions. All Positions are for grabs, including Surf Club President with hustings for each position. If you have always wanted to be on Surf Club committee, now's your chance. Don't miss out!

Hey dudes, it's the last trip of semester! We're off to Bundoran for a weekend of cool surfy vibes, lovely waves & great craic. Bundoran is a holiday village on the Donegal coast, expect chill surf cafés & well stocked surf shops. See you there!!

The trip is to Las Palmas in Gran Canaria but if you want to find out more then call down for all the details! Kevin will go through the plan for accommodation, price, flights and general expenses

We're going to Lahinch for our 2nd trip this semester. We will also be running for the first time, a brand new surf competition called Cold Vibrations. This will be an inter-varsity event where we will compete against UCC and NUIG. We will have plenty of surf with competition categories for novice, longboard and shortboard. We have also linked up with some local enterprises to host some of our very own surf club musicians for live music after our awards ceremony.  This is a weekend not to be missed!

Oh boy, it's time for the tastiest event in the surf club calendar, POTLUCK IS BACK!!!

What's a potluck? It's simple; cook your signature dish, sweet or savory and bring it along to 16 the Laurels. All the food is laid out on the table and we FEAST!!!

Can't cook? Not an issue, pizza is just a phone call away x

Come and join us on our first trip of the semester. We will be heading to the beautiful Achill island to experience some of the best surf and craic Ireland has to offer. This trip will be running alongside the annual Battle for the lake Festival (https://youtu.be/1vv6eAVjItQ?) so you will be experiencing some great Irish musical talent (such as our very own Lost Boys) in the evenings. This trip is sure to be a great one so keep an eye on your emails for a link to the sign up.

I will also be able to do a live sign up before next weeks pool session 9:30pm - 10:00pm in the UL Arena.

Come along to our weekly balance & skate sessions on Monday evenings in collaboration with UL Skate Club. We'll teach you the basics of skating and how to maneuver your board, no experience required! Do you have your own board? Why not pop along and show us some moves. Every Monday outside the PESS building (behind the Sports Arena)
