We are staying in glamping pods, so bring sleeping bags and warm fluffy PJs. On Saturday we’ll be getting uplifts, we have the place booked out so the trails will be ours! And on Sunday we’ll be hitting the regular xc trails with some really nice views. Back at the BH late Sunday night. The Trail Cycle Leader Award (TCL) consists of a two-day training course, followed by a one-day assessment. On successful completion of TCL assessment the participant will be sufficiently skilled to lead groups of up to eight riders on any legal terrain that is suitable for the abilities of their group and also below 600m elevation and within a 30-minute walk of rescue.

WEEK 6 WICKLOW TRIP IS HERE!!!!

Make sure not to miss this class weekend of sending it and socialising! We are starting off on Friday night in stables and we are meeting at the BH at 6:30 am on Saturday morning to leave at 7 am sharp. We'll spend all day Saturday sending it at the GAP, uplift passes for the day are included! We are staying at the Glendalough hostel and on Sunday we'll be exploring some natural trails. Back at the BH on Sunday late afternoon. This class trip is not to be missed!

We'll also be hosting our AGM (Annual General Meeting) where we elect a new committee! Anyone is welcome to join or nominate a person. Joining the committee is the best way to get to know your fellow mountain bikers, take control of what the club does and it looks pretty great on your CV. We'll be electing a completely new committee with the following positions available:

Captain - Secretary - Treasurer - Public Relations Officer (PRO) - Health & Safety Officer (HSO) - Equipment Officer - Trips Officer - Web Admin

We're doing a challenge! We are challenging you to complete 19 mountain bike related tasks while social distancing is in place! Hopefully this will help keep us all sane and satisfy our needs for all things mtb, if only for a few minutes! You can do the challenges one by one, or try them all together, one after the other. As long as you get on a bike! Just be careful to not put yourself at any risk - now is not the time to end up in A+E.

Our second beginner-friendly weekend trip of the year takes place on 14th - 16th February, when we will head to Wicklow. Saturday will be an uplift day at the GAP, while on Sunday we will try out flowy enduro trails in Ticknok. Don't forget to bring a suit/dress for the Valentine's ball in Glendalough on Saturday night with OPC!

It's the time of the year when to elect a new committee. The slate is wiped clean and any position is up for grabs by any registered member, so start thinking about which position would suit you!

This winter we are going back to Wales for a mix of Enduro riding and Bike Park days, across all of Afan Valley and with two days in Bike Park Wales. The aim of the trip is to advance the skills of both our beginner and experienced members and expose members to a wider range of trails than those available in Ireland. Packing begins on the 1st of January and we'll be returning on the 10th of January.  Email mtbclubul@gmail.com with any queries.
