What should I wear to training?
---
You can wear any athletic clothes you like and are comfortable moving in (but try and avoid zippers as they can get caught in the trampoline). Jewellery and piercings must be removed for training, if you have a piercing that you can’t remove we have tape/ plasters you can use to cover it.
Do I need to have done trampoline/ gymnastics before?
No! We are open to all levels, if you’re a complete beginner you’re more than welcome.

BOUNCE INTO THE BEST CLUB ON CAMPUS!
UL Trampoline Club welcomes all skill levels, whether you are a complete beginner or you’ve been doing competitive trampolining your entire life. Many of our members, who had never jumped on a trampoline before joining, are now mastering front and back somersaults. At training, you get the opportunity to learn new skills and improve those you already have. It’s a supportive, upbeat environment where everyone helps and cheers on each other.
TRAINING
We train twice a week (Tuesday 8-10pm and Thursday 6-8pm) in the PESS hall. Don’t worry if you miss a training or two, we don't mind. Whether you come to every single training, or just once every couple of weeks, you’re more than welcome!
Wear any active clothing that you can move freely in, shorts/leggings/tracksuits and a t-shirt are perfect. Clothes with zips, such as a hoodie/half-sip are not recommended, as the zip may get caught in the trampoline. Socks must be worn on the trampoline too (put the dogs away PLEASE), and no jewellery or piercings should be worn when bouncing. If you have a piercing that can’t be removed, we can sort you out with tape or a plaster to cover it.
At training you will get the opportunity to try out both Olympic Trampoline, and DMT (double-mini trampoline). We are one of the only university clubs in Ireland with a DMT so come and try it out! You can learn trampoline basics all the way up to advanced and elite skills, which you can showcase at competitions.
OTHER EVENTS
Other than our weekly training sessions, we plan to have social nights and events to get to know each other better, including trips to other training facilities, interclub crossovers, themed trainings and fun nights out as a team.
We also have regular competition trips, 3 to 4 per year, to compete against other university trampoline clubs. Most of these happen around Ireland, and one (Scottish Student Trampoline Open) takes place in Edinburgh every year! These weekend trips are a great opportunity to get to know people from other universities across Ireland and the UK, and to have fun with your friends from UL Trampoline Club. It’s also good to have something to work towards and look forward to in training, and to motivate you to perfect your skills. At competitions you will get the option to participate in all of the disciplines; trampoline, synchro, DMT, and tumbling.
ACHIEVEMENTS
We’ve had many successful competitions with people medalling in all aspects, Trampoline, Synchro, DMT, Tumbling, and awards over the years, and picked up individual and group medals, but the most impressive thing is ...
... that UL Trampoline Club holds the Guiness World Record for the most somersaults on a trampoline by a group in 24 hours!!! The total amounted to 73,218 somersaults, that's flipping crazy :o !!!!
