Over the course of 9 days, a group of 11 intrepid Outdoor Pursuit Club (OPC) members successfully completed the famous Tour du Mont Blanc. This iconic Alpine route crosses through France, Italy and Switzerland, with climbs equivalent to ascending Carrauntoohil every single day!

The journey was not simply a walk in the park - extreme heat, waking at 4am,15kg backpacks and golfball-sized hailstones were some of the many challenges to overcome. Setting up a new campsite every night, the OPC hikers carried every single piece of camping equipment with them. This added a new layer of difficulty to the conventional hut-to-hut itinerary which most would follow.

In the stunning mountain town of Chamonix, the start and finish of the trek, the OPC has also established a fixed campsite for several weeks of high altitude climbing on Alpine crags and glaciers.
