As the dust settles on our 4th annual foreign training camp, it’s the perfect time to reflect on what was a fantastic and demanding week for everyone involved. This year, 35 swimmers from both our Racing and Performance squads attended, all coming together with a shared focus, strong team spirit, and a hunger to improve.

Our new camp location proved to be a huge success, offering access to both a 25m short course pool and a 50m long course pool. This flexibility allowed our swimmers to experience varied training environments and race-specific preparation. Under the guidance of our two expert coaches, the squad entered a focused endurance block, with sessions carefully designed to push limits. With two sessions a day, the week was intense but incredibly rewarding. Swimmers were challenged physically and mentally, developing resilience, consistency, and confidence as the week progressed. On the final day, time trials were held where team spirit was high and swimming times were fast, even after an incredibly tough week of training.

Away from the pool, the camp offered plenty of opportunities for team bonding, from card games and table quizzes to exploring Vila Real de Santo António, capped off with an evening trip across the river to Ayamonte in Spain.

As we look ahead to the semester, we have lots of upcoming competitions; most importantly InterVarsity's which is being hosted at home in the UL Sports Arena on March 27th/28th. Exciting times ahead:)
