The University of Limerick Vikings Flag Football team has once again earned a spot in the AFI Division One Glass Bowl playoffs, marking their second consecutive postseason appearance. This achievement highlights the team’s rapid rise and commitment to excellence in one of Ireland’s fastest-growing sports.

Season Overview

The Vikings finished the regular season as the second-ranked team in the Southern Division, losing only to the Edenderry Eagles in a hard-fought matchup. Despite this setback, the team showcased resilience and depth by winning their final two games with backup quarterback Bret Switzer after QB Billy Leenane suffered an injury late in the season. Switzer stepped up under pressure, guiding the offense with poise and ensuring the Vikings secured their playoff berth.
