Hungary and Healy-Rage

Join Politics Society Monday the 20th at 6:30pm in the Wolf Land Room for our Members Meeting were we will be discussing the major national and international events of the last week.

A week is a long time in Politics and we've seen that both nationally and internationally over the last few days. We'll be delving into two major topics. Firstly we will be looking at the recent Hungarian Elections which saw Péter Magyar's, Tisza party oust Viktor Orbán's Fidesz after 16 years in power, becoming a historic moment in modern Hungarian Politics.

Lastly the role of the Independent TD in Irish Politics. Following the resignation of minister Michael Healy-Rae we anticipate that the events of the last two weeks and the role of politicians who occupy this space will be in sharp focus.

Hope to see you all there!

About Politics Society

The main objective of the UL Politics Society is to encourage political engagement among students. Creating a space in which to be educated and to educate others on political issues.

We aim to provide UL Students with a neutral platform for political discourse which exists independently of the views of any political party, politician or society member.

We also aim connect students and give them the opportunity to develop essential skills such as public speaking, networking and critical thinking.

We recognizes the goal of increasing political awareness on campus through easily accessible information regarding how they can participate in the political life of their communities.

We wish to particularly emphasise issues of concern to the University of Limerick as well as all pertaining to students and young people in Ireland

You do not need to be studying politics to join in!
