AeroSoc x AstroSoc Collaboration!
Join us Wednesday the 11th of October at 7pm in KBG15 for our first collaboration of the year with UL Astronomy Society. We will be watching the 1999 biographical drama "October Sky", starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Laura Dern. "October Sky" was inspired by the memoir written by Homer Hickam, detailing his experiences growing up in a coal-mining town pursuing amateur rocketry. Homer Hickam went on to work with NASA as an aerospace engineer for 27 years.

We will be holding our AGM next Wednesday the 27th of September in KBG13 from 7pm.
We will be electing a new Committee and discussing motions and plans for the coming year. I hope to see ye all there!
If anyone would like to propose a motion, or put themselves forward for a Committee position, please reply to this email by Tuesday the 26th at 5pm. We will be looking to fill the roles of Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary, Public Relations Officer, Health & Safety Officer, Rocketry Officer, First Year Rep and one Ordinary Committee Member. In order to submit yourself for a Committee position, you will need a second member to sponsor/back your nomination. This can be prearranged or done on the night whichever you prefer! If there are multiple nominations for a role on the Committee, we will conduct a hustings in order to vote on the nominees.
The agenda for the AGM will be released to all Members on Wednesday afternoon.

Hi all,
Big announcement for anyone here with an interest in getting their Private Pilot's License (PPL)! We have arranged for Limerick Flying Club to come into us to give a presentation on their work as a club, how to go about getting your PPL, the services they provide, among other topics! They will also have two recent graduates along to inform us about their journey!
The event will take place in KBG14 on Tuesday next, 15th of November, @7pm. The event will consist of a presentation panel from Limerick Flying Club followed by a QnA with our members. I encourage any who, like me, have interest in getting their PPL to attend just to even gather more information about them!
