The countdown to Dance UL Inters 2026 has officially begun!
Kicking off on 7th March with our Tech Day rehearsal, the excitement builds to Competition Day on 8th March and we cannot wait.
As seen on our Instagram, the competition venue sold out within 5 minutes, an incredible reflection of the anticipation surrounding this year’s event. Due to overwhelming demand, we are currently exploring an alternative location to host a live streaming event, giving those who missed out on tickets another opportunity to experience the competition. More information on this will be released very soon.
With 14 colleges travelling to Limerick, over 600 dancers competing, and more than 1,000 people expected on campus that Sunday, this promises to be one of the biggest Dance UL events to date.
Styles competing include:
Hip Hop
Contemporary
Irish Dance
Mixed Team
Make sure to follow Dance UL Inters on Instagram to stay up to date with all announcements, ticket information and behind-the-scenes content.
The countdown is on Inters is coming. ?

Here is a message from this semester’s Contemporary teacher Zara Boss:
Hiya folks! My name’s Zara and I’ll be teaching contemporary this semester. I’ve been dancing for over a decade, and recently earned my BA in Dance while studying in New York. I’ve danced all over the world, including Tokyo and Seoul, and am very excited to join the community here at UL. This class is open-level, so I encourage all to join! My goal is for each dancer to get what they need from the class, regardless of experience. Whether you’ve never set foot in a studio before or are a well-seasoned pro, you are welcome! My choreography style prioritizes musicality (and floorwork), and we’ll be listening to a large variety of music genres. I really look forward to dancing with you all, and building a fun and supportive environment in the studio.
What to bring:
See you at class!

Here is a message from this semester’s Contemporary teacher Olivia Solano:
Hello! My name is Olivia, and I am very much looking forward to teaching heels with Dance UL! I am a medical student at UL, having just moved from Canada this year. Thank you for welcoming me into your dance community. I grew up dancing from a young age, training and competing across Canada. Most of my foundations are in ballet, contemporary, jazz, and musical theatre. However, when reconnecting with dance in my adult life, I began training other like heels, hip hop, and commercial.
I have been teaching adult dance for the past three years, and I am so excited to continue this in Ireland! In my class you can expect to focus on both building your technique and learning new choreography. I aim to provide a space where dancers of all levels can connect with their bodies and foster supportive relationships with themselves and others. I can’t wait to see you in class!
What to bring:
See you at class!
Founded in 2008, Dance UL teaches a range of in-person classes for all dance abilities. We also host showcases, quizzes and other fundraisers, and loads of bonding activities. Our aim is to provide a fun and supportive environment where we can all come together to dance!
Some of the classes and workshops we provide include:
Dance UL has also facilitated workshops from HUGE Irish names such as Adam Fogarty and Amy Ford, and we hope to add some even bigger names to that list this year.
Dance UL also offers competitive opportunities, particularly annual participation in the All Ireland Intervarsity Dance Competition in multiple categories. This year we are preparing to compete in-person for the first time in two years with Contemporary, Jazz, Irish and HipHop teams!
Dance UL has placed in at least one category at Inter-varsities almost every year since first competing in 2009:
Dance UL has also been granted other awards at the annual Clubs and Societies Ball including "Best New Club" in 2009, "Best Event" for hosting Intervarsities in 2015, and "Best Fresher" in 2017.
In 2016, Dance UL collaborated with Crooked Teeth, an independent film company, to create "project:ULtimate" - a short dance film based on the 2016 varsity Mixed piece. Dance UL is also available for many other events and collaborations! We have performed in fashion shows, in Limerick City for City of Culture, flashmobs, at Queerbash, and at the Clubs and Societies Ball.
This year, we are holding weekly classes for Heels, Commercial, and Contemporary, which are open to dancers of all levels, as well as weekly once-off workshops in styles such as Jazz, Ballroom and Ballet!
Keep an eye on our instagram page to stay up to date with everything going on! Dancers from all levels and backgrounds are more than welcome to participate in any classes, workshops or auditions!
